I have tried the extra pillow routine but find I end up with bad lower back pains. What has helped a lot is sleeping on my stomach. It stops you from chocking

The acid that flows back definitely can damage the outer layer of your skin (throat and the wind pipe), now that can cause abrasions and even bleeding in some cases, but if the bleeding is persistent then you need to visit your physician and get it checked up without delay.

As i said in one of the posts, the symptoms and cure can vary from person to person, what suits for one persons might not go well with another, this is when it comes to natural remedies, though meds and pharma companies may not like you to believe so as they need to sell their products, so they will say nothing will work that is natural or by leaving a certain food item, because they want you to eat and then pop their medicines too. You say that "every study" out there has proved this, but tell me how many of those studies have been conducted independently without funding from some big pharma companies.

It is not normal to see blood, however it might not be anything too serious, just the acid has scraped your inner lining of stomach too much and blood spills out, however it is essential to get that particular blood drops checked at your local laboratory with the consultation of a physician, that is very much essential.

I agree with Cobs on the fact that not all treatments or medications will surely cure you of GERD or heartburn, especially in the case of medications.

However, it is advisable to make use of natural remedies first when signs of acid reflux symptoms appear. This way, you can find what works for you without wasting too much time and money in the process.

Acid Reflux symptoms tend to be common in women as compared to men, and statistics shows that women who display such symptoms is often attributed to something more serious as compared to their male counterparts.

One advise though is to try out some home remedies if it works, but if not then it is best to have a doctor look at it before some serious crops up.

First, let me tell you: your site was a great help for me!!

I just think you forgot other natural methods that might help: the position you acquire while sleeping :)
I suffer from this regularly so I’ve been searching about the subject. Since now, the best improvement in my health was done by changing my diet but
I saw on this other site that other simple gestures might help, for example:
1. Try to sleep with a and extra pillow under your head to help gravity get the acid back down more easily.
2. Since this condition commonly occurs on a full stomach, make an effort to eat earlier and eat less to keep the stomach from being too full.

These are simple gestures that people may not think about, but it can also help your readers.
Hope I helped!
