Posted by SolaceRose 19 Jan, 2010

Acid Reflux in babies or young children is often an incredible pain to their parents too as the crying is unstoppable. ChildrenAcid reflux disease occurs in people of all ages; this results fromstomach acids coming back into the esophagus. This happens during, after a meal or the feeding time. Usually it leads to a painful or irritating sensation in the throat. It may occur to some people making them feel like vomiting in addition to the burning sensation in throat. One is actually not physically ill in that sense, but it has some relationships in terms of cause and manifestation. Acid reflux occurs when the band of muscles; the sphincter does not close at the bottom of the esophagus, or closes too quickly, causing some stomach juices to reflux (back flow) into the esophagus. The lower esophageal sphincter is often called the LES, and when weak, will be forced to open up when they should be closed.

Every child has a little weakness of LES. All your muscles, including the LES, need time to mature. Therefore, we use BURP burping cloths for a baby who has just finished breastfeeding. Acid reflux is more common in breastfed babies than those that are bottle fed for the milk is dilute.

Acid reflux occurs in most children, in fact, more than half of all children experience acid reflux within the first three months of their life.

You have to make sure that you apply the best approach for your children, otherwise something wrong can happen.
